America voted, and this season’s American Idol winner is Phillip Phillips! The two-hour season finale extravaganza was packed with performances by celebrities John Fogerty, Rihanna, Neil Diamond, Jennifer Holliday and Aerosmith, who will be on the AA Center stage in July. After a record-setting 132 million votes were counted, the singer/songwriter from Georgia edged out his 16-year-old competitor, Jessica Sanchez, on the Wednesday night finale. Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, Jessica Sanchez is already talking with Sony’s Tommy Mottola about producing her first album.  But it was Phillips who wooed both the judges and America with his emotional performance of the song “Home”.

“It’s been such an honor,” said Phillips, who described the experience as surreal when speaking to the press backstage after his win.

So celebrate Dallas because the talent and popularity of this season’s contestants has brought the American Idol Live Tour back to the AA Center! As the first chance to catch the new Idols out on tour, the show will feature the top 10 contestants from the season, including last night’s winner Phillip Phillips, runner-up Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon, DeAndre Brackensick, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Heejun Han, Hollie Cavanagh, Joshua Ledet and Skylar Laine.

Tickets are available from Ticketmaster for $65 as the tour comes to Dallas on July 29.
