“Burning” Up For Rammstein
Calling all pyrotechnic lovers– you’re going to want to hear about this concert. Rammstein, a Berlin-based band, is bringing their brand new show to the AA Center next month, and the fire department is already on-call. Known for their incendiary live performances, Rammstein creates a show unlike any other you have seen. Their dedicated European fans fill soccer stadiums to capacity and keep the band quite busy overseas. So busy, in fact, that Rammstein spent nearly a decade without performing in the U.S. before returning in 2010, followed by nine days worth of shows around the country in spring 2011. We are quite excited by the announcement of their latest tour and the fact they will be spending more time in the good ole U.S.A. After all, we couldn’t let the Europeans have all the fun (in their “football” stadiums, nonetheless)!
Just last week Rammstein was awarded two German Echo music awards. The sextet won honors in the “Best Rock/Alternative national” category and also the “Most successful national act abroad” category. To their fans, these awards probably come at no surprise. An interesting fact about the metal band: it has had the same six members since its formation in 1994– pretty impressive by today’s standards.
The veteran band has six albums under their belt, the most recent being a greatest hits album entitled Made in Germany 1995-2011 (which their current tour is named after). So go check some of them out before heading to the show on May 22nd. And if you watch the video below, you may just decide to invest in some flame resistant clothing.
